Shit, summer has finally hit the city and it's hot as balls outside! Doesn’t it suck? You’re trying to look good but the sun is making you sweat so much that your back is wet, your pits are stained, and you have BSTL (ball stuck to leg). It’s really uncomfortable but don’t worry, we’ve got your back. Here are some tips to help you restore your dignity.
Wear an undershirt under your shirt
This sounds counter-intuitive but a good undershirt will help you wick away sweat and will prevent your sweat from being seen through your shirt. In case you didn’t know, an undershirt is different from a T-shirt. It’s like the difference between wearing boxer briefs and shorts. One is meant to be worn alone and the other is meant to create a barrier between your body and your clothing.
Choose Lightweight Fabrics
Choosing the right fabric will make a huge difference with how you feel. With the right fabrics, you can increase the breath-ability and flexibility of your clothes. For the summer, I suggest dressing lightly in clothes that are made of open weave wools such as cotton, linen, and fresco. At DV Clothiers, we even have wools like bamboo cotton and suits with weights that are as low as 200g per meter! Do you know what that means? It means you can become an easy breezy cover-guy.
Don’t Wear Tight Clothes And Loosen It Up
Opt for shirts that aren’t too tight. Unbutton your cuffs, roll up your sleeves, unbutton some of your neck buttons, skip the tie if you can, or roll up your pants. The main thing you want is to have as much as air as possible flowing through your clothes to keep you cool. While we can't all be naked due to social norms, this will have to do.
Wear Summer Colors
You know how some people are super light skinned and they can blind you by showing you their white thighs? This is similar to how your clothes work. According to my high school knowledge about light, the lighter and whiter the color, the more light and heat bounces off of it. So for this reason, go for light pastel colors and you’ll be looking fresh for the season.
Wear Lightweight Shoes
Loafers and Espadrilles are amazing for the summer. You can slip them on easily and don’t need to wear socks with them. The espadrilles are male flats and are meant to be casual. If you want to dress up a bit more, you can go with some sleek penny loafers. Additionally, you can wear no socks or opt for short socks that still show your ankles.
Opt for suits with less of a lining in them. It will be feel lighter and will be easier to move in. Especially for the summer, if you sweat a lot like me, every bit helps.
The most important thing to do is to stay hydrated and healthy. Cutting down on caffeine and drinking more water can also reduce your sweat. Caffeine stimulates your body and causes it to want to cool itself down by making you sweat. A balanced diet made up of less meat, plenty of greens, fruits, and nuts will also help your sweating too!
By using these tips, you'll be able to enjoy the summer a little bit more and hopefully unstick your balls from your legs. Do you sweat a lot? If so, how do you deal with it? Leave a comment down below or share this shit with your friends.
